our art car was originally going to be a white and red pig. he was going to be shiny and clean and very japanese, with little red wings, rosy cheeks, smiling eyes, and a curly little tail.

then we thought more about the American Dream theme and fully realized our brainchild, Boss Hog.

what better way to vaunt and show off the strenth, the glutton, & the immoderation of america with the most voracious of all creatures: a giant, hairy, pig - with tusks, at that.

ever heard the term, "high on the hog"?

the details:

Boss Hog is a wart hog made of metal, 20 feet long and 10 feet tall. The vehicle underneath is actually a gutted 88' Volvo sedan, donated to us by walters lovely mom. thank you mrs. martinez!

the driver and 5 passengers will sit in a hollow area on top of the Boss. a stairway up to that seating platform is in back, essentially starting where the bumper was, and it extends up to above the vehicle roof.

the stairway and railing, as well as the entire frame of the vehicle is made up of 1 to 1.1/4 sq." hollow metal beams. everything has been welded together.

the steering wheel, gear shifter, and brake are extended through the roof to the seating platform so we can drive from up top - hence "high on the hog".

as you can see below, BH has come a long way.....
